I started working on this after being inspired by an early Morning sunrise in my backgarden in May. While I watched the sunrise I felt an overwhellming sence of Gods peace and stillness. The title of the work is from phillipans 4:9.
This has been a work in progress since January, after much studies and painting & repainting this is the compleated piece. It is a sunset look over the flood banck towards the River Ouse at Rawclif Medows.
Isaiah 60:1-2 (NIV)
Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
‘a Way to go’ is an oil painting I have recently completed and was inspired by a walk I did a few years ago in the lake district up to Grisledale Pike.
The painting has been the outcome of a months work, in which I have been exploring the theme of going on a journey, by removing all the clutter of modern living and getting out into nature. The detail in the path, focuses the viewers initial attention, proceeding then to continue the viewers gaze though out the image, to create a feeling of stillness.
Following my latest interest in nature and the de-cluttering of the mind from the digital world we are in. This image was inspired by the fixation on reflection of light and contrasting colors with in our natural world.
