Inspiration Most people climbing the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral are focused on reaching the top. I was fascinated by the journey itself. As the staircase spirals upwards, people hurry past, eager for the view waiting above. Yet all around them is an incredible world of intersecting beams, repeating patterns, dramatic angles, and hidden structures that often go unnoticed.
This drawing came from spending time observing those details. Looking beyond the destination and becoming absorbed in the architecture itself.
As an autistic artist, I’ve always been drawn to the details that many people pass by. Creating art is my way of slowing down and studying the world more closely. Through my work, I hope to encourage others to do the same—to pause, look again, and discover beauty in places they might otherwise overlook.
Sometimes the most interesting part of a journey isn’t where you’re going, but what you notice along the way.
